NAN CH 'UW'NU STL'I'
I LOVE YOU/I HOLD YOU DEAR VFW SS20
EAGLE SPINDLE WHORL FW20 COLLECTION
"Nan ch 'uw'nu stl'i'~I Love You/I Hold You Dear" was shown at VFW, Oct. 12, 2019. This SS20 collection is inspired by love, beauty and healing, as represented by hummingbird and flower designs by our father, Traditional Coast Salish Master Artist, William Good. Our Ay Lelum songs (recorded by Aunalee and Sophia) call to the hummingbird, and celebrate its arrival, bringing good medicine and healing. Music is remixed by Rob The Viking and features our family group, Footprints of the Wolf.
This dynamic Fall Winter 2020 collection chronicles this journey as the Supernatural Eagle travels the galaxy and brings the sunlight to the world, ultimately bringing us hope. The Supernatural Eagle also carries Killer whale and Serpent designs by our Father William Good and Brother Joel Good in the collection, both being Supernatural water figures that bring us power and strength.
Mom and Dad (pregnant with Sophie) Circa 1981 in "The Art Studio", 61 Nicol Street, Nanaimo, AKA our family home. We grew up as children immersed in the arts, Dad with carving in hand, Great Grampa's art class sign beside Aunalee's painting in the background and surrounded by Mom's paintings and pottery! Not to mention, the potters wheels, clay station, screen printing table, carving section and of course, play area with functioning horse swing!!
COAST SALISH DESIGN
We are a second generation Coast Salish Design House from Nanaimo, B.C., Canada. We are Sisters who design and produce clothing and fabric patterns featuring Traditional Coast Salish Art by our Father William Good and Brother W. Joel Good of the Snuneymuxw First Nation Hereditary Chief Family. Our garment design is mentored by our Mother, Sandra Moorhouse-Good, who had the very first Coast Salish clothing line with our Father called Ay Ay Mut in the 1990’s.
