When you need a very specific model that doesn't exist online, do you commission someone to create it, or do you try to learn modeling yourself? Which option has worked better for you?

I tried learning modeling myself and after three months of tutorials I could barely make a hollow cube with rounded edges while the thing I actually needed was a replacement gear with helical teeth. So I commissioned a designer and paid fifty dollars for a file that worked on the first print which felt like magic. What changed my perspective was finding a place like Gambody 3d printing marketplace where I saw how professional modelers structure their files with proper tolerances and supportless overhangs. Now I only learn modeling for simple brackets or boxes anything organic or mechanical I outsource. The time saved goes into printing and painting which is the part I actually enjoy.
